JETSTAR
FLY A FRIEND FOR FREE
When you’re on holiday, you become another person. But when you travel with other people that’s when the issues can arise. You’re previously title best friend turns into type-A, spreadsheet maker, plan creator and timeline dictator and thats not a vibe for your totally chilled out, talk to the locals, spend a day on the beach holiday persona. For Jetstar’s Fly a Friend for Free sale, we created the ultimate friendship test to ensure that when you come back from your affordable holiday you’ll still be friends.
Part online travel type quiz, part social influencer campaign and part in-person activation we created The Perfect Pair - inspired by 70s game shows to identify who you are on holiday and who you best travel with.
Packing Cube: Essentially you are all over it. A human Excel spreadsheet. You’ve scrolled through all of TikTok, watched every travel vlog, and have read the last three editions of Lonely Planet (and corrected the typos). Your group would literally be lost without you… and when they eventually lose their boarding pass? "Don’t worry, I printed a backup. Also, here’s your hotel reservation and a colour-coded itinerary. Yes it’s laminated." You are the real MVP. Even if you’re a little OTT.
You’re perfect pair is a Flip Flop because they’ll go along with all your plans.
Bag Tag:You’ve got the plan and the vibes. Sure, you’ve written your itinerary and done enough research to know where the good spots are. But you’re also happy to just go with the flow (or at least pretend to be), cancelling plans when you stumble across street food that just “feels authentic.” You just want to make sure everyone is having a good time. All of the time.
And good on you.
You’re perfect pair is a Flip Flop because they’ll go along with all your plans.
Flip Flop: If you were a gesture, you’d be a thumbs up. The human equivalent of “I’m just happy to be here.” You’ve got zero opinions, zero complaints, and 100% trust in whatever has been booked. Wanna go hiking? Sure. Wanna lay on the beach all day? Also sure. You’ve packed sunscreen, a phone charger, and a good attitude, and that’s the extent of your prep. Honestly, you are a dream.
You’re perfect pair is a Packing Cube because they have the itinerary ready for your to follow.
Lost Sunglasses: You are the wildcard who didn’t even know you were coming on this trip until a week ago. Now, you’ve befriended half the hostel, learned how to say “Cheers!” in the local language (it’s “churs”) and are somehow getting a scooter tour from a stranger named Marco who also does tattoo touch-ups. Plans? Irrelevant. Destinations? TBD. You’ve got main character energy and zero sense of time, and yet, everything magically works out for you.
You’re perfect pair is another Lost Sunglasses because no one else will willingly follow you on your spontaneous adventure…
